Hey there! I’m Steph Raines, the founder of My Best Pal Dog Training, passionately serving dogs and their families across the vibrant Tri-Cities area.
How It All Started
My journey into dog training is one of serendipity, sparked by a simple favor for a family friend that turned into a career. Growing up in a household that always had dogs, I've always felt comfortable and connected with them. But it wasn't until I took care of that eight-week-old Doberman that I truly discovered my gift for understanding and communicating with canines.
Eager to learn, I sought out the best in the field to hone my skills. The Will Atherton Training Academy became my alma mater, where I not only refined my natural talent but also earned my certification, validating my commitment to excellence in dog training.
My Philosophy and Approach
At My Best Pal Dog Training, my philosophy is all about balance. I believe in celebrating good behavior with positive reinforcement while also gently correcting the not-so-good, ensuring your dog understands the boundaries within your loving relationship. Structure, routine, and clear expectations form the backbone of my training approach—ingredients for a happy, well-adjusted dog.
Drop ins are also close to my heart. I treat every dog as if they were my own, adhering to their routines and ensuring they feel safe and loved in their own home. Pet parents are sometimes busy. I can come and hang out with your pet. Feeding them, playing with them, and letting them out.

Having two dogs of my own, I deeply understand the leap of faith it takes to entrust your beloved pets to someone else's care. It's not a decision taken lightly, and that’s why I want you to know that your dogs will receive the same love and attention from me as mine do. In my home, dogs are not just pets; they are family. They’ve been my steadfast companions, offering their love and presence unconditionally, especially during the tough times. This profound bond is what motivates me to extend nothing but the best care to your furry family members.
